"This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, and ask where the good way is, and walk in it. You will find rest for your soul."

"The Greatest Gift Ever Given"

As we remember our 9/11 anniversary date, it is also necessary for us to remember something else that some are trying very hard to make us forget.

Not long after the September 11th terrorist attacks, as the New York City firefighters and rescue workers were working to remove the masses of steel and concrete from the World Trade Center site, it was finally decided that they must bring in heavy equipment, cranes and bulldozers; and massive portions of the two crashed buildings began to be removed.

And, then, in the midst of the rubble, it was discovered - there it stood - in the middle of all the horror - was a cross.

As the workers approached it, they were amazed, it was perfect in its dimensions, perfect in its design. It was as if someone had masterfully built that perfect cross from the two huge steel beams. The workers knew it hadn't been part of the original World Trade Centers' structure, so, who had made it, and how?

Finally, they arrived at an amazing conclusion. When those two buildings had caught on fire and were heated up to a literal melting point, unbelievably hot from the burning jet fuel, and when the buildings fell, these two huge steel beams heated to a point of melting, crashed onto each other, and literally melted together to make this perfectly formed cross. Unbelievable!

Today, Christians all around the world see the cross as a sign of peace and hope and God's tremendous love for us - we believers love to gaze upon it because it tells the story of God's wonderful Gift to us. But, the cross hasn't always been seen that way. You see, the cross was used as a terrible tool to torture and kill people - and it was the tool used to kill our innocent Lord Jesus Christ in the most cruel way. But God took this terrible tool of torture and used it as our way to Him through His Great sacrifice.

Now, some would say that the perfectly formed cross at ground zero was just a coincidence, just a freak happenstance, and that nothing should be taken from it. But, I disagree.

I believe that cross was meant to be there. Why? To tell us that through all of the horror and rubble and death - to let us know that He was there that day, and that He is here with us today. And that His desire for us is to see us put Him back in his rightful place as the true Father of our nation, America.

So, as we remember this 9/11 anniversary; as we remember in prayer those who are still suffering from their great loss that day; let us also remember this - our single greatest ally, America's greatest source of strength and safety is Almighty God.

Want to see America become the nation that you remember it to be? Then pray that we follow the words of 2 Chronicles 7/14:

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

May God bless America.
