"This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, and ask where the good way is, and walk in it. You will find rest for your soul."

"In God We Still Trust" or do we?

By Jerry Stewart

There's a powerful song out there that I have posted on the upper right side of this page so you can hear. This song, "In God We Still Trust", is sung by a group named Diamond Rio, and certainly lays out so much of how so many of us still feel about our America. I have posted the words below for your review.

But here's the question I must ask - "Is our trust still in God?"

Since our stock market took its dive, not a day has gone by that someone hasn't called me worried, even scared, that everything is about to crash.

So many have lost hope in our nation's leaders, and rightly so. Our America is about to be under the control of an administration that believes its alright to kill innocent precious babies, all in the name of "a woman's choice", and is proud for that position to be part of their party platform.

We are about to face a time in our nation when the majority of our national leaders believe that a redistribution of our income and earnings in America is what's best for us as a nation. If you doubt this statement, then explain to me why those taxpayers making a higher income are asked to pay a higher percentage of tax based on their income bracket. By the way, our Founding Fathers were quite clear in their belief that any taxes collected based on a person's income were unconstitutional. It took the 16th amendment to our Constitution to override their position.

We are scared and concerned that so many here in our nation illegally are about to be allowed to stay here.

All of this, and the poor economy too - what is going to happen to our America? What is going to happen to We the People?

This brings me back to my question, "Where is our hope - is our hope still in God?" For those of us who say that "God is our Hope", it's time for us to put our lives, our walk, where our mouths have been. Its easy to say that you trust in God when you have a good job, plenty of money, a stable and safe economy, but what happens if these things go away?

The truth is this, either God is truly God of all things or He is God of nothing. Either He is my Creator, my Deliverer, my Saviour, my Hope, or He's nothing. And when we stand up and talk in good times about trusting in God, but when hard times come we live and act and talk like we don't really trust Him, then what is the truth in our hearts? Do we or not?

I encourage you this week, right now, to ask yourself, "Where is my trust, really?" Settle it. If your trust is in God, then as you worry and fret, as you become anxious and fearful, move closer to Him, rest in Him, take your burdens to Him. An then, trust that He will help and guide you

Let us all pray for our America. Let us all pray for Almighty God to be put back into His rightful place as the true Father of our Nation.

May God Bless America!

 "In God We Still Trust"

You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the truth.
His name is on our greatest monuments an' all our money too.
An' when we pledge allegiance, there's no doubt where we stand:
There's no separation, we're one nation under Him.

In God, We Still Trust,
Here in America,
He's the one we turn to every time the going gets rough.
He is the source of all our strength,
The one who watches over us.
Here in America, in God, we still trust.

Now there are those among us,
Who wanna push Him out.
And erase his name from everything,
This country's all about.
From the schoolhouse to the courthouse,
They're silencing His word,
An' now it's time for all believers,
To make our voices heard.

In God, We Still Trust,
here in America,
He's the one we turn to every time the goin' gets rough.
He is the source of all our strength, the one who watches over us.
Here in America, in God, we still trust.
Here in America,
Here in America,
Here in America, in God, we still trust.
Here in America, in God, we still trust.
Here in America.
